Uantir is both traditional and progressive in its self-acknowledgement of a cast society. It can be argued that even in our modern civilization we operate in a cast society and just fail to admit it. The news is the ultimate proof of this ‘dark secret’. Take any news story and pay attention to how the politician, celebrity, or similar person is referenced by name while anyone else is reported as a statistic. There are stories about specific people, but the issues of less important folk, ‘the rabble,’ are reported parenthetically. It’s not fair, but it’s undeniable truth. The unfortunate reality is that some people are considered more important. Instead of ignoring that fact, Uantir embraces it. In uantir one does not need to be rich, a politician, or a celebrity to be an Aristocrat. Once you’ve made that commitment, you’ve elevated from citizen to Aristocrat. The only drawback is the negative connotation of the phrase ‘cast society.’ Citizens are not second class any more than an American citizen is to their senator. Aristocrats are the authority in their region and govern it as they see fit, but are not gods among serfs.
