So, how would you defined a mysterious pain described as such:
Thursday the pain slowly began over the course of the day. The pain is in the mid left foot. It does not hurt unless pressure is put on the ball of the foot, the foot is bent or pressure is applied to a spot about an inch down from the knuckle on the middle toe. There is no swelling, bruising or discoloration. Icing only helps to numb the pain temporarily, it does not help the condition any.
At the spot of the pain there is a bump, but I can't tell from feeling both feet if that bump is there on the other foot as well, I kind of think it is.

I have absolutely no idea! It could be:
A sprained internal muscle, and with the foot there are a lot of small muscles. (I did this once - hurt like mad, no external signs of bruising or swelling, but i had to stay off it for a week and bandage it up.) There could be a small splinter of goodness knows what in there. That might take a while to come to the surface. A bone fracture.
I would recommend strapping it, staying off it, and if it's not improving at least in the next 3 days, see your GP

Wrapping it up in a bandage causes excruciating pain.
It's been four days since the pain begun, so I'm going to go to a doctor today or tomorrow.

In that case, yes, get to a doctor ASAP.

Mystery solved. I have a stress fracture of my third metacarpal. I get to wear a stylish boot and take steroids! Hurrah...bleh.

Why do you have to take steroids? =/ To bring down the inflammation?

So was I.
Yes the steroids are an anti-inflammatory. The boot is for humiliation.

Miserable, but it's my fault. I've finished by steroid regimen days ago, but this weekend was brutal. Friday - Sunday were 12 hour days of constant walking, climbing, jumping off of things etc. etc. to facilitate the Tallship Festival (the busiest event we have all year with nearly 30,000 people coming through our facilities in two days) and since it was work I wasn't wearing my boot. So it hurts a lot but just from last nights rest it's making headway to not hurting.
I know, I'm a bad patient, but I'll wear the boot thing frequently now that this insanity of a weekend has ended.
I don't know how much you know about remedies, but Her Majestie's mother is very into holistic and gave me Symphytum Officinale to take, and it works all right. That with a some Arnica and Ibuprofen really makes me feel all right when I'm sitting on the couch.

Bad patient is right! You should not be walking on it! Arnica is good for healing bruises (Gods know you probably did a lot of that walking around WITHOUT support) but bones don't bruise. and ibuprofen is good for blocking the pain receptors that the injured nerves set off, but it's the bone. You need the bone to heal. And agravating the bone is the best way to stay in lots of pain for months to come. And becareful with the ibuprofen - It's addictive. Sit your bum down, put your foot up and keep it there for the next 2-8 weeks. How long did the doctor say it would take to heal?

Four to six weeks. I have a check up with him on the 22nd to evaluate the healing and re-assess the injury since stress fractures are difficult to pinpoint on an X-Ray until about a month after the pain begins.

That's quite unfortunate. Maybe this can be my impetus to really take up the King's Challenge, try to keep it going while the king's injured.
