Indeed, that and I don't understand how anyone can truly see the world as global. Yes with the internet and hyperconnectivity etc. we are a global community, but we're never going to be a global culture. I wouldn't want it to be. Since attitudes change as you cross city lines, much less national borders, small localized governments managing themselves (according to a national outline) is the best way to do it. Unfortunately that doesn't work on different scales. You can't have a global moderation of a bunch of nations like you do a national moderation of states. The numbers get too huge. It's like rounding up on six billions equations and hoping you're not millions away from the correct answer.
