There are two organisations, recognised by the micronational community involving fake land. There is the Micronational Cartography Society (MCS) and the Geographical Standards Organisation (GSO). The reason I bring this up is because I think it might be something interesting to get Uantir involved in. It would give each Barony, County and Principality definition, people with artistic ability could have an outlet (designing maps, estates, etc.) and we would be, literally, 'on the map' in the micronational community. But I wanted to get the general opinion of you: do you think it's hokey? Do you think it's silly? Or is it something you'd like me to pursue? If you do, which organisation do you prefer? I personally like the MCS better. I have a few spots on both maps I have my eye on, but if you think this would be something interesting enough to do, where on the map do you think we should be? I know the Queen would prefer a temperate climate akin to Southern California and I like the cold. So the lands I've been looking at include the coast, because we both love the ocean, an equitorial distance similar to Southern California and tall mountains. I want your thoughts.

I think it's a wonderful idea! It'll give our nation a feeling of establishment. Judging by the quick look I took at both sites, I like MCS better. The site is very straight forward and easy to navigate. I like the idea of a warm coastal area, too. It may be good to have a natural bay for commerce. I also like having a coast so that we are not completely enclosed by other nations. The sea is a good way to receive reinforcements in times of conflict. It looks like there are a lot of resources all over the map, so I don't think that will be a problem. I think King Ari and Queen Rachel are on the right track here. Could you give us an idea of where you're thinking?

Well on the MCS map I was looking at that bay on the east shore of the east most continent. If you were to follow the lat and long it would be between 130-145 long and 30-40 lat. There are others but that's my favourite because there's mountains to the west and those islands outside the bay are still unclaimed.

I agree that the MCS is the organization we should look into first, and I think the location the King's looking at is a fine choice. It's pretty far removed from the really gigantic nations, and the mountains and the islands are nice. According to the resource map, the area is rich with silk and fish. So, I suppose the next step would be to petition the MCS.

I agree. It's a lovely area.

Another reason I like the area is, they will shrink overzealous petitions. So it's a modest request. Then, when our citizenry grows, there is alot of room to expand to.

I decided to think big:

Anything anyone wants to add? Suggest?
Counts and Countesses, as soon as the application is approved (take into account that they will likely reduce us some...or a lot) I will be adding County lines, which means I'll need at least one city of your naming if not design within the next few weeks.
Likewise, if they are not reduced out of the land, there are three islands to the east. A contest will be run for their names. Everyone who wants to be involved for the naming of the islands is invited.
I have not submitted yet, I'm waiting for your opinions. So speak up.

Cool, going for the gold there, eh, your Highness? You know, I bet with all that land we'd have room for a whole University City...

I really like it. I hope we can span from the coast to the river. That would be excellent and provide us two trading routes. I must start thinking of a city name. I really like the idea of a University Town, too. It'd protect the Academy from being hoarded by any one county. Though it also may be a good idea to have the Academy near Castle Uantir.

On the map I have the border between Wolfshire and Auldrant has a no-man's land that is where the University town is located. A bubble of ownership under the Academy and not to either County. I'm still waiting on Count Jared or Viscountess Marissa to create a city name for the map so I can present it. The people I've talked to say that without things like internal borders and cities and such you're much more likely to be rejected or have your proposal drastically shrunk.
Though with your city having a lunar name I'd be interested in proposals from anyone with a 'solar' name for the city in Auldrant.

The application has been submitted, the capitol city of Auldrant is now Auldrant city for simplicity's sake. We'll see how things go.
