As we've just hit summer here in Australia, the whole "slip slop slap" advertising is in full force. "Oh, the sun is bad for you, it'll give you skin cancer, put on sun screen if you have to go out in it!" FACT: UVA rays are the bad ones. They release free radicals, and are active all day. UVB rays are the good ones. They are most active when the sun is at its highest point in the sky. UVB is the one that your skin needs to produce Vitamin D3, which is an essential vitamin. The problem with D3 suppliments is the chance of overdosing, which is toxic. FACT: As long as you don't get burnt, it's not causing damage on a cellular level that will cause cancer. Fact: Sunscreen is very bad for your skin and dangerous to your body. It is utterly loaded with harmful chemicals that cause all sorts of reactions.
