Um.....hi. I'm Sonusai, and I was told to come visit this site by one of the youngest Houten siblings. I am very much into text based (literate of course) roleplaying.

Well, in a way that is what we are, though that word gives a different connotation. We are more of a simulation, but you can look at it as playing a role since we're not completely real. Take a read through the information we have, definitely start at Start Here. Any other questions you have, just ask. Beyond that get involved! Find a thread that interests you and make a post, ask some questions, that's the best way to get started.

Roleplaying can be encorporated into Microantions. We could start some roleplay-storywriting things for our new member? Unless you already have one.. I need to look around some more

There's nothing like that currently, but I fully support one.

There was a good idea that Vanderveer was going to work on, in its day, but it never got done. That was to do with roleplay. We were thinking about finding a script that would pick one 'event' and one 'section' of the country (as we had many states) at random, then present it on the forum. Then citizens of that section had to Roleplay out that event and decide on how they were going to deal with it. It didn't get done as no-one bothered to write the script. If you like the sound of it, however, I'm sure no-one will have any objections to you using it. Though, shall need adaptation as I don't think we have enough activity at the moment to make it sectioned. Other examples of Roleplay are choosing a specific event. As Livlandia is doing. But meh.. however ones does it, can be fun

That sounds like fun. Is that something you'd be interested in doing Sonusai?

I can't think of anything at the moment. Perhaps a day in the life of person in the palace of the King? Is there a certain culture I should know about? A language I should learn?
What does it mean to be an Inquisitive?

The 'inquisitive' thing is part of the 'titles' in proboards, I assume. I don't know if you have much experience in running a board, but they give (in proboards at least) a chance for you to name what some of your guests are dependant on how much they post. So.. some go for 'citizen' (at 0 posts), 'experienced citizen' (at 1000 posts) 'know it all' at 10000 posts, or something similar.. inquisitive seems to be what the first is to Uantir .. at least I'm guessing so..

Artz is correct. Inquisitive is the title I have granted to those who have less then ten posts, because they are simply getting an idea of what Uantir is all about. At ten posts your status will change to Citizen. You can see that citizens such as Her Excellency Countess Nesslandria have reached 'devoted citizen' for having achieved a higher post count.
In the wake of a citizenship application protocol I will likely change the default member setting to Inquisitive, no matter what their post count. After application for citizenship or denizenship their membership will change and their title will change accordingly. You came to us before I got all that set up, so you're excluded. At ten posts you'll become a citizen regardless.
The culture is a mix of Americana and Britannic, as the government structure is based heavily of Feudal British Monarchy. I have always tried to attain a level of 'comfortable formality' when 'in the palace' or 'at court' which is to say friendly, but dignified...if that makes sense. The lounge is different, for it's simply the place where we become friends.
