Dear Sir/Madam I write on behalf of Livlandia as their Minister of Foreign Affairs in hope to create a strong friendship between our nations. We are a young nation, with many ideas and would definately benefit from your wisdom. We are interested in setting up a treaty of recognition and friendship and a treaty of trade, as we are developing a new national and international trade system. Yours, Artz

Greetings and welcome.
I am looking forward to coming by Livlandia this weekend to issue a Declaration of Recognition. Would I be correct to assume that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the best place to conduct such issues?

It would be indeed. I have suggested the following treaty on our boards, aswell as here.
It includes a part in the protection and defence of the two nations. If you do not wish to undertake in that, do say.. as we have another without that added detail.
Are we happy with this, or would you like it changed?.. I'll write up a treaty of trade soon.. as I work on how to go about advertising my trade system.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'protection and defense of the two nations.' Are you referring to article V - VI?
Also this post will be duplicitous if you check Livlandia first. For the sake of transparency this post, and subsequent ones most likely, will be posted in nearly identical fashion on both boards.

As I said on the Livlandian boards, maybe we should continue on here But yes, I was refferring to V and Vi.. V is our standard for treaties, whereas Vi was an edit to include protection, but keeping with our 'no war unless forced' attitude.

Just to be clear that Vi states that military may engage on each other's soil with permission for the sake of defending the other?

Say, for example, Livlandia was being attacked by x country. If all other methods of solving the issue (which is normally viewed as attempted contact and reasoning with x), then if Uantir wished to send military support, or medical aid, to Livlandia, they must contact the government, a representitive would reply and affirm that it is needed for the situation. If its helping with internal issues, say if x territory was attacking y territory and x wanted help, the leader of x would have to contact y and be denied for reasoning, to then come to Uantir/accept Uantir for aid/support. I hope thats a bit clearer. Of course, in both scenarios, it goes both ways.

Sure, that all makes sense.
I have no problem with it as it stands. But I'm putting it up to the general population's input as well.
Does anyone else have anything to say in regards to the proposed treaty with the Kingdom of Livlandia?
