Video games are dangerous for me. I usually lose the willpower battle and get addicted.

And I've clocked up another 5, 6 hours on The Third Age....

Heh heh... I'm about ready to play a few hours of 'Tales of Vesperia' on my 360 unless the friend that just texted me wants to do something.

The Tales series is fantastic, and Tales of Symphonia is one of the best games of all time. I've also played Tales of Symphonia 2, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Phantasia, all solid. Tales of the Abyss is especially fun towards the end of the game, when all the characters have huge special attacks and power-up circles crowd the battlefield. The camera just zooms in from character to character as explosions go on in the background.

I remember watching someone play Tales of Symphonia and it reminding me of Final Fantasy.

Hiya! You all know already that I'm a big fan of the band Coheed and Cambria, so you knew this was coming. =P There are comic books that accompany the music, and I have for you here a link to a free preview on MTV's website. Please go have a look! You won't regret it. =) www.mtv.com/geek/comics/issues/?id=102

I have a love hate relationship with videogames, I love them but I hate realizing it's nine hours later when I crawl out into the daylight.

Agreed! I've held off playing any video games lately b/c I have a job that I have to get up at 5 am for and I can't afford to be going to bed any later than 9 or 10 pm. =/

Ah yes, the 'I'd have plenty of time to play these games if it wasn't for the job' dilemma. Tragic. If I knew the cure I not only would have started playing, but have already put together an Uantir guild on FFXIV.

I'm suffering from the same fate, I'm afraid. I don't know how the job system works in FFXIV, but I call the Black Mage.

Definitely. Though they don't really have black, red and white mages in this version. There's the conjurer, which your spell selection chooses whether you blast or heal or both, and the thaumaturge which does stat debuffs and curses and such like that.
What I love about FFXIV is that Archer is a starting class, so no more enduring 20-30 levels of melee fighter, sucking at ranged to get the skills up then catching a Ranger PrC. Woo! Damn...now I want to play.
