So along with being a political model Uantir is, of course, a social center. To improve upon that note this thread is here to be all about us. Pets, hobbies, interests, day to day happenings, health problems/interests and that sort of thing can all be brought up here. In a way this thread can act like a communal blog. We can all discuss what's happening in our lives and interact that way almost as if we're hanging out on the couch.
I'll start. Big news: I've enlisted in the United States Army. I'm doing it for a number of reasons. First of all it's something I've wanted to do for a very long time. Most of the people I respect in the real world and in fiction are all military, or have military in their history. Historically the greatest heads of state have had military experience, if not being military at the time of their reign, and so I look at this as professional development for my role as King of Uantir. I also have no money for college and will be getting that paid for through the Army so I can have a future. Right now I work at a dead end job and can't support Her Majesty and myself. Now I will be able to do that. I'll get valuable experience in the law enforcement field (as I am going into the military police) which is where I've been trying to go in the civilian world anyway. Law enforcement is another wonderful head of state experience, I think.
I look forward to what everyone thinks about the decision.

Wow... That's pretty amazing! Military Police can be a lot of fun (I did a placement with the Australian Army Military police the archives were insanely cool) and it's great that you're thinking outside of the box to get you where you want to go, and in a way where there is a support system. Let me know how it all goes

What's going on right now?
Well, the rain is pelting down, the wind is dancing madly and it's been so dark and overcast i've need lights on for most of the day. I love storms.
Today's project is getting the rooms sorted out just a little bit more. Mum came home this morning from being at her friends, and the place is starting to look a bit more like home. The statues are in the wall units, the badges a blutac-d to my dressing table, the kitchen table finally can sit one (working on clearing the other spaces), the dryer is outside and the dishes are under control.
His Majesty posted about career aspirations, and i'm going to follow that topic as well. I've essentially got the job i'm after - Natural therapist. I'm self trained in Herbal medicine, Aromatherapy, Naturopathy and Massage. The only things I'm missing are the certificates that say "I can do this" and the insurance. Which is why friends, family, pets and myself are the only ones to benefit from my skills. I want to look into doing a correspondance Natural therapies course, because I'm the houses full time carer, cook, cleaner, laundry lady, and animal carer for my mum, boyfriend, dog and the two cats. Right now i'm drinking a Caoca w/ Cayenne (in plain english - Chili hot chocolate) to stimulate my circulation and warm me up - It's 9C w/ 50kph winds. (48F w/ 31mph winds) It's what I get everyone to drink when they're cold. Matt (the boyfriend) will be home in half an hour - probably freezing cold and wet, so i'm going to make sure there is chili hot chocolate for him and get dinner moving - Hawaiian herbed rice. And as soon as I start cooking the bacon His Lordship (Ogma, my cat) will start squeeing and attaching himself to my shoulder for his dinner. I love my cat.

I do intend to let you all know how it goes. I'm allowed to write letters and I intend to have Her Majesty post a running blog either here in Uantir or elsewhere with what I've been up to in basic training. For now though I don't leave until March, though we're trying to get that moved closer.
I long to have actual weather that's not heat or marine layer. Perhaps I'll get stationed somewhere with storms.
You sound like you have your hands full beyond measure. What is involved in acquiring that certification? Insurance involves lawyers I know, but do you need to take a class or simply take a test?

I'm glad they let you write letters. Will Her Majesty be able to send you updates back? Why do you want to leave earlier? The sooner you go the sooner you come back?
Storms are fun for a week or two, but you don't want them for too long... Too much breaks. We've lost a few pot plants - we had 100kph winds (62mph) the other night. So I'm looking forward to calmer weather.
Things are busy - I'm also studying with Landmark Education in their leadership program, on top of everything else. To get the qualifications, I have to do a 2 or 3 year course (I think it's 3), and pass it, to have any hope at all of getting a lawyer to sign insurance papers, and even then i might need some more qualificaitons... Practice insurance (for all types of health care) is really hard to get, unless you're a qualified doctor working in a government owned hospital or medical facility.

Wow. Is the course expensive? My father was a surgeon while I was growing up and I remember an extremely huge number when he referred to what was involved in getting his medical license and insurance and such as a 'free agent' style surgeon that works for multiple hospitals on call.

It'll be about about $3000 AUD a year. Which is a bit more then I can afford right now. So I need to deal with the debts that are here right now.

hmm.. whats going on with me right now? I finished (equivelent to age 16-grade >.>..<.<.. conversions between the systems are hard..) High school, which means the end of my secondary education! Well, technically, I finished that in July and ever since I've had my holidays. Tomorrow I get my results, Friday I get enroled for college (ages 16-18) and on the 7th of september I hopefully start college with the subjects I've chosen! I've decided to do Photography, Biology, English Language and Psychology at A Level (which are one of the types of college courses). Eventually, I hope to become an animal behaviourist, or a psychologist. Hobby-wise.. my main hobby at the moment is micronationalism.. as thats what I do every day.. but I also enjoy singing, acting, reading and creative writing and creation of any sort (including art, that I took at GCSE (high school certificate, in which we recieve one for each individual subject).. and the reults be with me on Friday ;D.. lol. At the moment, I'm at the computer after being woken up at 12 (as asked, as lately I've been waking up at 2pm every day -_-), checked my mail and the various boards.. then I'll probably go off to do.. ehh.. something or other I haven't figured out yet. ..

LOL Artz. I wish I had that little to do - I could fit more home study in! My day normally comprises of getting up at about 9, sorting out breakfast for my cat while cooking the human breakfasts for Mum, Matt and myself, and having a cuppa, then calling everyone in for breakfast (poached eggs on toast, occasionally with spicy buttered mushrooms) Then the day consists of dishes, laundry, getting in some exercise, getting mum where she needs to go, taking care of any medical needs (right now, she just had a tooth out, so i'm monitoring that.) unpacking more boxes, sorting more stuff for the garage sale, time for Facebook, Uantir, DeviantART, and three of my five emails, then I'll spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours preparing dinner, then we eat, I feed Ogma somewhere in there, Matt and I shower, settle in with a movie, mum goes to bed, movie ends and we'll do stuff - more facebooking, I'll kill some orcs while Matts on the PC, or I'll get bake happy and make cake. Then we go to bed. And my favourite part of bedtime is that Matt reads one disney book to me a night - I love disney, but i feel really weird experiancing the story on my own, so he reads and i sing the songs. And I'm reading my books now too!! One by don Miguel Ruiz. Brilliant book so far. I'll post it in the library when I'm done. I love having time at night. Speaking of night, we're about to do a flamability test, and then go to bed. Snow White is tonights book.

Your days are jammed packed Mira. Mine usually consist of waking up, throwing together a breakfast, fighting over who makes lunch, working all day then being lazy until I go to sleep. Throw working out into the lazy time (much more now considering the Army) and you've got my day.

Wow, that seems like a big step to join the army! But it sounds like a step in the right direction. ;D
My days consist of going to class and working. My free time has been wasted, but I need to stop wasting time b/c I'm rather behind already with my classes and they only started last week. =/ I enjoy crafting, reading, and video games in my free time. =D

I guess any one can find things to do when they're needed to? I know that if i didn't do it, no one else would. Everyone would skip breakfast, the animals would go hungry, and the dishes would overflow till the cupboards are empty. Etc. Occasionally i'll get a lazy day. I love those days.

Hee hee. I wonder what will happen when I finally move out? I'm sorry to say that I don't really help out too much at home. =/ I always have my excuses of classwork or being too tired, etc. I kinda want to move out and be forced to deal with stuff like that. Kinda strange...
In other news, I put my bro's old TV in my bedroom (probably a bad idea). This interacted with my poor self control, yielding a night of video games and no sleep, followed by work the next day. Not so good. *shame* But I'm happy to be playing video games again. It's been a while.
