A tried and true remedy for car and air sickness - crystalised or naked ginger pieces, or non alcoholic ginger beer (it has to actually have ginger in it, and not flavours.)
I don't know if it cures sea sickness, but i shall let you all know after my ferry journey from Victoria to Tasmania (it's an overnight trip.)

That is actually one of the best sea sickness cures. We used to keep a package of ginger candy aboard for just that reason. We haven't recently and I'm not sure why.
Most people come on the boats already having taken dramamine or bonine or something similar. They make you sleepy is the big problem.
A friend we sail with uses the ionized magnetic wristband, though he only gets sick occasionally anyway so I have no real judgment on those.

Ginger is awesome.
Ah, yes, side effects. One of the many reasons i refuse to take anything that isn't natural.
i don't know about all that ionized magnetic stuff - I didn't find it effective the few times i have used it.
