Agreed. And I have been one of the ghosts. *shame* I haven't really been online lately. Sorry about that! And to top it off, new spam user Ann has spammed the last 17 updates, making the '10 most recent updates' link useless. *sigh* But catch up I will! Just not tonight. =P I think 2:15 am is quite late enough to go to bed. *slinks off*

Yeah, I've seen spambots like that on other forums. They take random snippets of articles from Wikipedia and the like and post them. It's really weird.
EDIT: I just remembered, I'm the Dean, and with great power comes great mod abilities (but only in my own domain). I scrubbed the spambot's posts from the Academy.

Alright, so for some reason, despite my "administrator" status, I've never been able to alter anything from this account. Once I figure out what Ari's Username/password is again (I know I know it, just got to figure out the combination), I'll sort it all out.

Usually it's to sell junk; I don't know what kind of spam protections proboards has, if any, but there are actually remarkably few spambots in Uantir.

The Honorable Gelare is right, for being a free web board company I was worried I'd be dealing with spammers more often, but there are relatively few. Also, when I'm around, I check daily and delete spammers as soon as I see them, so there have been two or three that general population have never noticed come and go.
I appreciate the group effort in removing this one while I've been absent.
