Title: Bringing Elizabeth Home Author: Ed and Lois Smart, with Laura Morton Year Published: 2003 Publisher: Doubleday/Random House
Plot Summary: Yes, this is about the famous Elizabeth Smart Kidnapping case in Salt Lake City. Ed and Lois walk us through their experiances - highs and lows, fears, keeping faith, tears, hopes and coping mechanisms in the time following the kidnapping of their eldest daughter, Elizabeth. From the beginning - When Mary Katherine (their youngest daughter) woke them in the middle of the night to tell them Elizabeth had been taken, to the amazing conclusion - against the odds: reunion, 9 months after she'd been taken.
Why I recommend the book: This one was an absolute tear jerker. I really feel for both parents and the kids and the hard time they went through. I admire Elizabeth for her courage and strength. It really brings forth how faith can help you survive. This is the ultimate handbook to getting through life when you feel like giving up.
