Every man sleeps, and some men dream. It's nothing interesting, or so it would seem. But do you ever wonder, in the dark of the night, what actually happens when your dreams take flight? One man wondered and needed to know, did you stay in your body or did you mind go? Every night was adventure, every night a new chance. Some dreams were of torture, some dreams of romance. It wasn't enough, he needed more. He wanted the control to make his dreams soar. With enough effort he could make things change, but then in the morning he felt tired and strange. The more he slept the less he was awake. The stronger the dream the more energy it would take. Sleep was more important the more he slept, it was in sleep that his fantasies were kept. Being awake was no fun, full of trial and work. The doldrums of life made him quite a jerk. In his dreams he was famous, an actor of renown. He was a brilliant detective with the nose of a hound. He was a knihgt in shining armor saving damsels in distress who all gladly married him in long flowing dress. He'd been king of the world and colonized the moon. When he entered the room every girl swooned. He had six pack abs and never worked out. He could knock down a building with a single loud shout. He never failed to save the day, when he was a wake in that dream world far far away. And with his options an ever full cup, one day he just never woke up.

I love it... It doesn't delve into the explainations of it all, but it explains what needs to be known, and carrie sthe story really well.

I'm glad you like it. I debated making it longer but didn't mostly because writing paragraphs that rhyme is very difficult. I'm glad it came off as a more profound literary device.

I think I gave my comments to you, personally lol.. but I may as well re-tell them here. I think itsa a lovely.. (poem?) poem and well written.. but totally strange feelings behind it lol. I think that every person 'is' those things seen in the third paragraph.. but not because they actually do them.. because they are that great to somebody. Be it their parents, lover, friends, children.. or just themselves. One should believe in themselves.. and without bringing it into their ego and bragging/acting like it, believe that they are one of the best things in this universe.
