Antillica would like to propose a trade agreement, because of our meat shortages of late, however, first we would like to know what we could offer in return.

We're a nation of plains and mountains and rivers. Meat is something we've plenty of. As for what we need? I'm sure there's something from the desert you could offer us that we're unable to find here. Cacti product including prickly pear spring to mind, but I'm curious what jewels of the sands you can present in trade.

Well, the Altarahs are renowned for their beautiful rubies, if that would interest you.

Rubies are indeed beautiful, and the Uantiri hills are not rich with gemstones. Is any of your sand suitable for industrial work? As beautiful as gemstones are they do not directly contribute to the general good, and having a ready supply of sand for blasting, casting and other purposes would make public works projects that much cheaper.

Of course! I never thought of that, most of our sands are fit for industrial use, and there are several refinement factories under construction.
Perhaps we could transfer 500 pounds of sand in exchange for 500 pounds of meat every three months?

500 pounds of meat for 500 pounds of sand and one of your famous rubies every quarter.

It is good to know that we could come to this agreement.

Her Majesty brought up a good point. It may be wise to settle on a carat size for that ruby so that there will be no miscommuncation 10 years from now.

Indeed it would be wise. We are finding many recently of a size around 11 karat, although I am not much of an apraiser, so I do not know how much that is worth.

As long as there's a size listed, I'm fine with that. 11 carat will do.
