In the distant past when the world was dim and life uncertain, humans had to fight to maintain their superiority in a world full of viscous monsters. The worst of these foes was the turkey, which had grown such an insatiable appetite for human flesh that it nearly drove mankind to the brink of extinction. But our ancestors prevailed, rose up and cast off the oppressive yoke of Meleagris tyranny. So that neither side forgets those bloody times every year the human race slaughters and eats sacrificial turkeys in a primordial ritual.
