As an Aristocrat you are the governing entity of your territory which gives you the authority to create laws that help to define your land. Thus, you've got your idea of how your land should be judicially, or a problem you want solved. You have everything outlined and the grand plan is in your head. Now to get it down on paper in the proper format:
Title (the name of your Law)
Purpose (the reason this Law is being written and enacted)
Body of the proposal (the details that will come into effect as law)
Definitions (any terms that are not of common usage or have a special meaning in the case of your idea should be defined in the proposal)
A few tips:
- Spell out numbers, if the law requires a council of 5 members it should be written as 'five members.'
- Make sure the proposal is comprehensive, you should be an authority on the subject by now, an expert in all areas relating to the law and what it effects. There should be no surprises, no 'oops' once the law is in enacted and its effects are felt throughout the community.
- If your law effects or creates an institution your law should contain comprehensive detail on how the institution will be effected or run and operated.
- If you don't feel you have covered every possible contingency, take a break and come back to it later. Do not enact law that you are not 110% comfortable with.
- Though most laws concentrate on the here and now, make sure you give significant thought to the future impacts of the law and write accordingly.
Create a new thread detailing your new law so that others have a chance to review it and give you their input on it. Only the crown may outright veto a law. Once the discussion has died down and the law is ready, it will be published.
