Hello, my friends! I'd like to suggest an interesting set of books for anyone who's interested. The books are authored by Faith Hunter and are titled Bloodring, Seraphs, and Host. Together they chronicle the story of Thorn St. Croix, a stone mage living in the mountain town of Mineral City.
As stated earlier, Thorn is a mage. Mages were born out of the plagues of the apocalypse, and may now only live amongst humans if they are licensed. Due to mysterious circumstances, Thorn was taken from her home when she was fourteen years old and has been living away from the mage Enclave for approximately ten years. Humans (generally) hate and fear mages, so harsh punishments await any mage found to be living amongst humans without authorization. Understandably, Thorn has kept her abilities a secret from her friends and family in Mineral City, but something is about to happen that will force Thorn to reveal her true identity. An evil force threatens Mineral City, and has an unfortunate interest in Thorn and the people she loves. Threatened by Seraph, spawn, and human, Thorn will face the greatest challenge of her life. And then some.
These really are a great set of books. I didn't want to give too much away, so my summary only deals with Bloodring, which is the first of the series. I will warn you, while there isn't any actual sex, the author does make some sexual references. It's actually a bit of a plot point...but it's not graphic at all. Promise.
I think that there will be a fourth book eventually. Here's hoping. ;D Please tell me what you think if you read these.
